Reducing Airborne Disease Threats: Tools For Workers
All our worksite posters remind us: Mask Up, Keep your Distance, Open Windows. But so many questions remain:
Which masks are the safest? Who is responsible for providing them?
What happens if we’re in a closed room for a long time, even if we’re masked?
What are the laws that cover this? Are they strong enough?
How can we get our managers to deal with our concerns?
Join us for an evening with local and national occupational safety experts to learn about steps we can take, as individuals, worksite leaders, or policy advocates, to address the threats posed by airborne transmissible diseases. Our partners from Last Mile's COVID Straight Talk Lab will share tools for assessing and addressing indoor air quality at our own worksite, possible solutions, and ways to propose solutions to management and policy makers. A panel of occupational health experts will help make technical information understandable and, and share non-technical “hacks” - simple steps any worker can take to reduce their exposure to airborne transmissible disease.
This online training will be useful to any worker wondering what steps to take to improve safety at work – and especially useful for stewards, activists, safety committee members, and worksite representatives.
