A Professional Development Workshop with Highline College Faculty Kristyn Joy

Join the Labor Center for Teaching Workers’ Rights in the ESOL Classroom: An Introduction to a new WSBCTC Level 4-6 curriculum. This professional development workshop will be held on Friday May 10, 9am to Noon at South Seattle College’s Georgetown Campus in Building C, Room 110. Full-time and Part-time Community and Technical College Faculty who attend and commit to utilize portions of the curriculum during the summer or fall quarters will receive at $250 stipend. Travel assistance is also available for those considering attending from outside the Puget Sound. Space is limited so register today! Priority will be given to faculty of Washington State Community and Technical Colleges.

Kristyn’s Bio: After working in social justice organizations for 25 years, Kristyn returned to school at age 48 and completed a masters in adult education with a TESOL focus. She has taught English to adult immigrants and refugees at Highline College since 2018 where she is also the HCEA Union adjunct representative.
