Winning Health & Safety at Work during COVID-19
Please see our webinar series to know more about worker safety and rights.
The Washington Labor Education and Research Center was proud to present the latest in our series of COVID-19-related webinars in July 2020 highlighting worker health and safety.issues in the COVID era.
For Washington’s essential workers, health and safety issues have been a major issue since the COVID-19 pandemic struck the state last winter. For other workers now coming back into the workplace, questions about health and safety loom large.
The July webinar featured national health and safety expert Jessica Martinez. Jessica is National Co-Director, National Council for Occupational Health and Safety (NCOSH). Ms. Martinez was recently featured on MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Show speaking about safety in meatpacking plants.
The webinar features key findings from NCOSH’s new report, “A Safe and Just Return to Work,” interviews with local hospital workers who made their own "DIY" safety protective barriers, and an immigrant community leader discussing how workplace exposures affect communities.
Do you have a story to tell about the work you and your organization have been doing to make your workplace safe? We’d like to hear about it and feature your work in a future webinar.
